Formally registered as Adventure Bike Safaris (Pty) Ltd. (ABS), proprietors and operators Steve and Campbell McCurrach have assembled a dedicated adventure motorcycle touring outfit, for those intrepid riders looking for an exceptional African adventure motorcycling experience.

ABS has crafted tours which, wherever possible are ‘off-map’, off the paved roads and designed to immerse you in an African experience. We have personally scouted and selected routes which take you to South Africa’s ‘must visit’ places and points of interest.

Our tours are designed to roll along at a safe easy pace with numerous versions or grading’s of each route, in order to suit different rider skill levels, from beginner to advanced. We also offer bespoke or custom tours on special request e.g. historical tours of the Anglo/Boer and Anglo/Zulu wars, photographic safaris, etc.

Our selection of accommodations avoids the pretentious and commercialised touristy resorts, rather finding homely and hospitable lodges which offer a real feel for the region. Our rental motorcycle of choice is the Kawasaki KLR 650cc dual sport, as the fleet bikes, with Triumph Tiger XCx and Triumph Explorer on special request.

The KLR’s are specifically chosen as easy to ride, incredibly reliable and the best value vehicle for this activity. Our fleet of motorcycles have been customised for comfort, to a touring specification which makes them turnkey ready for any of our tours in South Africa.

We are also able to provide hired riding gear at affordable rates, or we can help you with most new gear requirements, by prior arrangement.
