Suitable for all ages. The trail starts behind the pond and gardens in front of the main buildings. It is particularly beautiful in spring and early summer when the grassland is a mass of flowers. Rich in bird life, small game such bush buck, impala and zebra….

The New Germany Commonage was used for early settler functions and where locals could gather free firewood. Rapid industrial and residential development led to 50 ha of bushclump, grassland, forest and protea woodland being set aside for a nature reserve. A variety of small mammals and excellent birding will be found in this gem of a Nature Reserve. It also boasts an enormous walk through aviary, picnic areas, toilets, self guided walks and an interpretive centre.
